With my work I point at a phenomenon (can also be a person), which is ahead of its time in relation to developments (that are) yet to come.
When I saw a seemingly ordinary park in New York in 2003, the seed for the project I can change the world with my two hands (2011-2019) was sown and it inspired me to research Urban Farming in a commons context. In 2005 I got to know the Whole Earth Catalog and immediately felt the urge to make a contemporary equivalent to shed a light at the Catalog’s Zeitgeist, which I foresaw would repeat itself. The desire for self-sufficiency and autonomous life, I thought, would upsurge again. In April 2020, after years of field experience, the contemporary take on the Catalog, the Whole Commons Catalog – Heel de stad, heel de Aarde was published.
